Antique Isfahan 180 x 120cm

A stunning tree of life bursting with just that. The main field the scene is set with deer grazing by the river or pool of water, then as we work our way up the tree stylised birds, parrots, doves are balanced either side amongst the blossom and leaves until at the top they sit in pairs looking as if in full song.
 
A simple linear almost graphic design sat on top of the main field with colours acting as a hilite or shadow the balance and depiction of life is seen at its fullest.
 
The borders certainly act as a carved frame around this picture.
Circa early 1900s a great example of a fine Isfahan who historically are renowned for using some of the best ‘kork’ wool in their productions.
