Exceptionally fine for this region this is a gorgeous example of the ever stunning lightening design symbolic to the mazlaghan region of zanjan in northern iran.
Look at the movement in the weave of the flowers in the main field bursting with life and energy or skill actually. The sharp execution of the design heightened by the finer quality of weave than many from this region.
The rich madder field with the deep indigo corners is all lifted by the light central medallion, sharpness of the lightening and mirrored by the double ivory guard borders. Just love it!
